WEDDING RECEPTION FOR MR. AND MRS. CARROLL JORDAN


Turner Center, July 18 -- Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Jordan, (Miss Elsie Bubier) who were married July 2 have returned from their wedding trip through Massachusetts and New Hampshire and were given a reception at the home of Mr. Jordan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Jordan, Saturday evening. Miss Rebecca Hinkley, Miss Katherine Irish, and Miss Bernice Howe served refreshments. Mrs. Alice Hinkley had charge of the guest book. Mrs. Alice Dixon the gift table, Miss Hazel Bubier, sister of the bride and Stanley Jordan, brother of the bridegroom, were the ushers. Mrs. Kimball of Greene made the wedding cake.

The wedding presents included cut glass, pyrex, silver, linen, pictures and money.

Turner Couple Married 25 Years

Carrol and Beatrice Jordan of North Parish Road, Turner, recently celebrated their silver wedding anniversary at a surprise party held at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, David and Janet Bubier. Also assisting with the duties of host and hostess were another son and his wife, Gerald and Barbara Bubier, and a daughter of her husband Vira and Wade McManus.

Pink roses accented a three tier anniversary cake, and special gifts included a stereo system, several silver items and a wishing well of cards and money. A buffet meal was served.

Jordan and the former Beatrice Pettengill Bubier of Greene were married Oct. 19, 1960 at Wales.

Carroll C. Jordan

LEWISTON --
Carrol C. Jordan, 91, of North Parish Road, Turner, died Wednesday morning at Central Maine Medical Center after an illness of several months.

Born at Turner, Dec. 3, 1901, he was the son of Ernest and Emma Carver Jordan. He was educated in schools of Turner.

Mr. Jordan was married July 2, 1927, to the former Elsie Bubier and she died Jan. 22, 1958, in Turner. He later was married on Oct. 19, 1960 at Wales to the former Beatrice Pettengill.

He was a farmer and for many years he was also employed by W.E. Matthew Machinery Co. of Auburn and for a number of years was a painter at Bates College.

Mr. Jordan was a 50 year member of the Turner Grange.

Survivors include his wife of Turner; two daughters, Vira J. McManus of Greene and Fay Palmer of Turner; one son, Roland C. of Turner; five step-sons, Kenneth, Clayton, Phillip, Gerald and David Bubier, all of Greene; one sister, Rita Hendershot of Turner; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; 29 step-greatgrandchildren and one step great-great grandchild.

JORDAN -- Died in Lewiston, April 21, 1993, Carroll C. Jordan, age 91, of Turner, husband of the former Beatrice Pettengill Bubier. Funeral services will be held from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham and Son Saturday, April 24 at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Valley Cemetery, Greene. Friends may call at the chapel Friday, 7 to 9 p.m. only. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Turner Rescue, c/o Laurel Gagne, Box 135, Turner, 04282 in his memory.
