Planning June 14 Ceremony

Betrothal Announced in Grand Island

Guests at a tea at Riverside Country Club in Grand Island, Neb., Saturday learned of the engagement of Miss Judith Ann Bost of Grand Island and Frederick Trenk Daly, 3d, Scottsbluff, Neb.

The announcement was made by Miss Bost's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson Bost, Grand Island.

The bride-groom elect is the son of Frederick T. Daly, Jr., Scottsbluff. The Daly family lived in Omaha where Mr. Daly, formerly University of Nebraska Alumni secretary, was associated with The World Herald.

Miss Bost is the granddaughter of Mrs. Homer Bowen, Grand Island. The bride-groom elect is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. F.T. Daly, Cambridge, Neb., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John G. Lowe, Kearney, Neb.

Both Miss Bost and her fiancee will be graduated from the University of Nebraska in June. The couple will be married June 14 in St. Stephen's Church in Grand Island.

Miss Bost is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and Theta Sigma Phi, journalism honorary.

Her fiance is editor of the Daily Nebraskan and a member of Innocents Society, senior men's honorary, Sigma Delta Chi, journalism honorary, and Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.

Judith B. Daly, Folger library employee


Judith B. Daly, who worked as an administrative assistant at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington during the 1970s and 1980s, died May 8 at the Village assisted living facility in Rockville. She was 76.

She had Alzheimer's disease, said her husband, Frederick Daly.

Mrs. Daly accompanied her husband, a Navy officer, on postings around the world. They settled in the Washington area in the early 1970s. She joined the Folger Shakespeare Library in 1973 and worked as an administrative assistant and helped supervise volunteer programs at the library. She left the library in 1981.

Judith Ann Bost was born in Grand Island, Neb., and was a 1957 English graduate of the University of Nebraska. She received a master's degree from the University of Maryland in 1985.

Her memberships included the Sulgrave Club and St. Francis Episcopal Church in Potomac.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, retired Navy Cmdr. Frederick Daly of Potomac; two children, Frederick L. Daly of Closter, N.J., and Anne Daly of Los Angeles; a sister; and a granddaughter.
