Gloria Goff is Injured
Is Temporarily Blinded By Fall In Basement of School
Gloria Goff, 14 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Goff, 1631 Illinois street, suffered a concussion of the brain yesterday when she fell, striking her head on the concrete floor in the basement of one of the Junior high school buildings.
Her eyesight has been lost since the fall but it is hoped that she will recover shortly.

Ted Brown Is Injured
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred M. Brown Suffers Severe Cut
Ted Brown, 12 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred M. Brown, 1157 East Fifteenth Street, suffered a severe cut on his left side today when a bicycle he was riding and a car driven by Gloria Goff, 1631 Illinois street, collided at Tenth and Kentucky streets shortly after noon today.
The youth was taken to Memorial hospital for treatment and then taken to his home.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin W. Goff of Lawrence, Kas., announce the engagement of their daughter, Gloria, to Mr. Fred H. Larrabee, jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Larrabee. Miss Goff attended St. Mary's Academy, Leavenworth, and the University of Kansas. Mr. Larrabee attended Kansas City Junior College before entering the U.S.A. Signal Corps. The marriage will take place this fall.

Invitations have been issued for the marriage of Miss Gloria Goff and Fred H. Larrabee, Jr., which will take place Monday evening, September 2, at 8 o'clock, in Danforth Chapel. A reception at 9 o'clock will be held in the grill room of the Hotel Eldridge.
Miss Goff has chosen Mrs. Dick Robbins of Abilene, as her matron of honor. Mr. Larrabee will have his brother, Rob Larrabee of Kansas City, as best man. Leon A. Triggs, Jr., and E.T. Mahood, both of Kansas City, will be ushers.

Mrs. Gloria Larrabee
Private graveside services for Mrs. Gloria Goff Larrabee, 36, of 1725 Vt. St., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Oak Hill Cemetery. Father Roy S. Turner will be in charge. Friends may call at the Rumsey Funeral Home until 9 a.m. Saturday.
Mrs. Larrabee died Wednesday at General Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. North Kansas City police said Mrs. Larrabee died from a fracture at the base of the skull suffered Tuesday when her head hit the sidewalk after a fall. An autopsy performed Wednesday showed also she had suffered a head injury several years ago.
She was an advertising executive for Centron Corp., Inc. Mrs. Larrabee was born Nov. 25, 1924 in St. Louis, and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Larrabee, of the home; two sons, Robert Lewis Larrabee and Fred Henry Larrabee, both of the home; her mother, Mrs. M.W. Goff, of the home; a sister, Mrs. Gerald Behnke of Longmont, Colo., and a brother, Melvin Ward Goff, of the home.
