John H. Gowen, 89, of 106 Hampshire Street, Auburn, died Tuesday at his home. He was born in North Bradford, Aug. 16, 1845, the son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Huntington Gowen and had been a resident of Auburn 31 years. Until his retirement several years ago, he had operated farms in Monmouth and Auburn.
Besides the widow, the former Clara Dyer of Lagrange, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Maude G. Hayes of Freeport, Mrs. Mildred Lindsay of North Monmouth, Miss ... and Miss Helen Gowen of Auburn ... grandchildren ... a brother ... Gowen of Los Angeles ... three sisters, Mrs. ... Mrs. Elizabeth ... of Lewiston and Mrs. Ida ... of Oakland, Calif.
