MARVIN R. GRAY
ORLAND -- Marvin R. Gray, 79, died July 31, 1984, at his home in Orland. He was born in Orland, July 13, 1905, the son of Maggie Marks. Marvin was a life-long resident of Orland and a member of the Castine Grange for many years. He retired after many years of service from the St. Regis Paper Mill in Bucksport.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Orland; two sons, Ralston and Weldon (Dick), both of Orland; two daughters, Elaine Dobbins of Stockton Springs, Marguerite Carey of Orland; one brother, Milford of Penobscot; two sisters, Ethel Leach of Bangor and Wilma Brooks of Orland; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Marshall of Blue Hill in April of 1979.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the South Orland Church of God, with the Rev. Dr. Alger Geary officiating. Interment in family lot, South Orland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, Bucksport 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to the South Orland Church of God.
