WINTHROP -- Dell C. Reed, 81, of Quaker Ridge Road, Greene, died early Tuesday morning, Oct. 2, at the Heritage Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the last two years.
Born in Greene, March 26, 1919, the daughter of Seward and Laura Bishop Mower, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School.
Mrs. Reed married Wallace W. Reed of Turner on Aug. 20, 1939, in Greene. He died May 5, 1999.
She and her family made their home on Quaker Ridge Road in Greene. She was a representative for Avon products and a member of the grange.
Mrs. Reed enjoyed tending to her flower garden, cooking large meals and having people at the farm. She served as a ballot clerk in Greene for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Gary of Falmouth and Gregory of Lincoln; one brother, Dwight Mower; and one sister, Dorothy Chateauvert, both of Greene; and six grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Dwinal Mower; and one sister, Doris Mower.
DIED -- In Winthrop, Maine Oct. 3, 2000, Dell C. Reed, age 81, of Greene, Maine. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday at Valley Cemetery, Greene. Arrangements by Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home, 707 Main Street, Monmouth. If desired, contributions may be made to Greene Fire Dept., c/o Alden Peterson, 184 Quaker Ridge Road, Greene, Maine 04236.
