Dorothy Edwards Weds Paul Deeter at Monmouth June 15

Monmouth, June 15 - Miss Dorothy Elise Edwards, daughter of Mrs. Winifred Edwards and the late William H. Edwards, Jr. and Paul Garman Deeter of Winthrop; son of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Deeter of Pittston, Pa. were married Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home of the bride's mother. The Rev. Charles T. Brown, pastor of the United Church, performed the service, the single ring ceremony being used.

The decorations were of ferns and garden bouquets.

The bride was gowned in a white redingote costume with white accessories and carried white roses and gypsophila. The maid of honor, Miss Margaret Edwards, her sister, of Lewiston, wore a blue redingote and carried pink roses. The bridegroom's attendant was Norman H. Edwards, a brother of the bride.

A reception followed the ceremony and Miss Helen Gordon and Miss Mary Flanders assisted Mrs. Gladys Blake in serving refreshments. Miss Eleanor Moore had charge of the guest book.

The bride attended the schools in Monmouth and was graduated from Monmouth Academy this year. Mr. Deeter was graduated from the West Pittston High School in the class of 1937, and is now employed at the Woolworth estate.

Among the guests from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. John Ellis of Franklin, Mass., Mrs. Edna Ellis of North Anson, Peter Saka, Mrs. Thomas Sylus and Miss Chrissie Ross of Winthrop.

Mr. and Mrs. Deeter will make their home in town.

PORTLAND -
Dorothy E. Campbell, 75, a resident of Springrock Park Village in Leeds, died Saturday Nov. 7, 1998 at Maine Medical Center in Portland where she was a patient.

She was born March 20, 1923 in Augusta, the daughter of William and Winnifred (Gott) Edwards, and she graduated from Monmouth Academy. She served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in Washington D.C. for the postal department of the army. Following the war, she attended Central Maine General Hospital school to become a laboratory technician. She worked as a lab tech in Augusta during the 1940s and 1950s and in the 1960s she became a physical therapist aide, also working in Augusta.

Recently she had worked for the Western Area Agency on Aging in Lewiston.

She had lived in Monmouth for many years and later moved to East Livermore to live with her daughter. Most recently she resided at Springrock Park Village. She was a member of the American Legion Post in Winthrop, a member and past president of the Eastern Star Lodge of Monmouth, past president of the Monmouth Historical Society, the Sierra Club and the Audubon Society.

She is survived by two sons, Michael L. Campbell of Hong Kong, China, and Steven Campbell of Brunswick; two daughters, Melissa J. Crocker of Monmouth and Meredith Norris of East Livermore; one sister, Eleanor Johnston of Winthrop; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was predeceased by a brother, Norman "Nim" Edwards and a sister, Margaret Frazier.
