Miss Olga Dankevich and Captain Andrew G. Lindsay were married yesterday morning at the Holy Trinity Church with the Rev. Philaret Astranhansky officiating. The wedding was a lovely double-ring, Russian Orthodox ceremony conducted in the Russian language.

Col. Andrew Lindsay

MONMOUTH --
Col. Andrew Gowen Lindsay, 53, U.S. Air Force (ret.), 5593 Camino Cerralvo, Santa Barbara, Calif., died Monday in Santa Barbara Hospital after a long illness. Military services were held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Santa Barbara with an Air Force chaplain officiating. Burial was in Santa Barbara Cemetery.

Col. Lindsay was born Nov. 4, 1915, in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1932 and from the U of M Orono, in June of 1940. In February of 1941, he volunteered for military duty in the U.S. Army at Augusta. Col. Lindsay served in Europe during World War II and was awarded many military decorations. He married Olga Elena Dankevich on Nov. 12, 1949 in Manila, Philippines. Col. Lindsay was placed on temporary disability retirement due to ill health in February 1967 when they moved to Santa Barbara. He was a member of the Retired Officers Club in Santa Barbara and the Masonic Lodge, Monmouth. He served as president of the Rancho del Ciervo Homeowners Assn. in Goleta Valley. At the time of his death, Col. Lindsay was writing a book on his experiences with the French Underground during World War II.

Surviving are his widow, a daughter, Lydia, and a son, Daniel, all of Santa Barbara; and two brothers, Albert H. of Stony Brook, N.Y. and Gordon L. of West Haven, Conn.
